Mad Hatter's Hat Jewellery Box - Final Design - Transformation

I made some final arrangements to my final design in my final post. In my previous post I said that I wasn't quite sure about the shape of the interior mirror in the Mad Hatter's Hat Jewellery Box, so I modified it into an oval shaped mirror. I also added some gold diamonds/rime stones around the mirror to glam it a bit up and to be more sassy looking . So... Be Stylish as a Mad Hatter !

Rough Design - Transformation

As seen in my previous post , I guess you have quite a clear idea on how I'm going to Transform  Mad Hatter's hat into a design of a jewellery box. I'm very pleased with the sketch that I've done so far but i'm still not so sure about the shape of the mirror in the interior of the jewellery box. I might do it in an oval shape to compliment the shape of the lid so they wont clash as in shape.

Mad Hatter - Pop art . Tranfsormation

I came across some interesting images while I was searching for, Mad Hatter Pop art ... so I thought about sharing it with you if you're interested in various pop art techniques. In my opinion I can see this as transformation in the way that it's edited/photographed ... because usually Mad-Hatter is not seen as a pop-art character. That was just my opinion but yours goes first anyways.

Hat Jewellery Box - Transformation

While I was searching for some ideas of  jewelry boxes, I came across one which I definitely  needed ; a jewelry box inform of a hat. This particular picture below clearly shows that it opens from the top of the " hat ". I took this as an inspiration to use Lichtenstein's design and Alice in Wonderland, Mad Hatter's hat as film ... Transforming his hat into a jewelry box which can be useful. I think that this clearly shows a transformation and by including art, design, and film I will be thicking the three desciplens that I had in my assignment brief. As in film i will be doing - Alice in Wonderland ( Mad Hatter ), Art - Pop art, and the design- Jewelry box in form of a hat.

Developing my idea - Transformation

As i explained in my previous post , Roy Lichtenstein is the main artist that inspired me in my design. By including the patterns (in the picture below) in my final design it will automatically shows transformation in the way that it is going to be "coloured". Usually Mad Hatter's hat is not pop-art that's why I'm thinking about designing it like that , to create transformation.

In his way of patterns and designs , Lichtenstein uses mainly the primary colours : blue , red & yellow . Using his way of design , i will transform the Mad Hatter's hat into a Pop design .

This is my edited picture of the hat :

I'm liking the editing so far... but I might do some changes to the patterns of the hat , and transform it into a pleasant jewelry box, because in my opinion as an artist student the patterns looks more like just thrown there and that's it , and i don't want that... I want people to like and understand the way I designed my Final Design.

Mad Hatter - Alice in Wonderland

Alice in WonderlandAlice in Wonderland (2010) is a film about a 19 year old girl who discovers Wonderland again after a long time . The story of this new film is different from the fairy tale that one used to know....Alice is betrothed to a dunce of an English nobleman . At her engagement party , she escapes the crowd to consider whether to go through with the marriage , and she falls down a hole in the garden...after spotting an unusual rabbit . Now Alice realizes that she is there for a reason ... She has to end the Red Queen's reign of terror .

Johnny Depp
Johnny Christopher Depp is one of the most famous actors in Hollywood , also around the world . He is an American actor , film producer , and musician . He has won the Golden Globe Award and Screen Actors Guild award for Best Actor .

Inspiration : The hat that he wears in the film ,  really does inspire me in the way that its made . I was thinking about Transforming his hat into a 'jewellery box ' and incorporate Roy Lichtenstein's technique into my design .

Getting obsessed with Pop Art .

Lately I've been insanely in love with the Pop art technique especially Roy Lichtenstein's technique , so I came up with the idea of trying to paint and share with you one of his famous comic paintings in my Reflective Journal and i am so happy about my final outcome of my drawing. Comment down below if you like and love it as much as i do ! :)

Basically Roy Lichtenstein (1923-1997) was an American Pop-art artist, painter, lithographer and sculptor.

In 1939 he studied at the Art Student League and when he started his career he exhibited his painting at the

Leo Castelli Gallery in New York City. Some of his famous painting were called : Whaam!, Crying Girl,

Little Big Painting, Mirror#2, Modern Head, Bauhaus Stairway, Mirror in Six Panels... and many many

more!

Still in progress ....

Final outcome ....

This is Roy Lichtenstein's painting the i got inspired from .

Transformation of Wonderland !

Who doesnt know the famous Alice in Wonderland ?! It is one of the most famous films for children on this planet . A few weeks ago i came across again Alice in Wonderland by Tim Burton , 2010 . This film is much more different than the first one in 1903 which is more of the silent film era  .... Alice now is 19 years old and she returns to the magical world from her childhood adventure , where she reunites again with her old friends . In this film Alice learns of her true destiny , to end the Red Queen's reign of terror . Jumping again on what i was saying first in the video below we see a total transformation in the way the first film was technically worked and the whole story about it. In the first film Alice was still young and now we see a total transformation of her when she grows up , in her manners and the way she thinks about , Wonderland .

In these to films we see a total transformation from the fisrt movie of Alice in Wonderland in 1903 , into Tim Burton's 2010 movie , Alice in Wonderland .

Famous Painting Turned Into , hmmm.. Real People !

So... i was surfing through some images on the internet about Pop art and i came across a very very interesting image and honestly it really inspired me from the minute i saw it  . Its none other than an inspired makeup created by a beauty guru on YouTube , Emma Pickles of the Comic Pop art Movement ! The original painting is by one of the most famous artists in Pop art , Roy Lichenstein . In the picture below i could see a transformation of a painting into a real person by using makeup .

Inspired from this image , Emma Pickles transformed this famous painting into her own .

Interested in Pop Art ? Here is a video for you on this makeup tutorial . Enjoy !
